Sumobot

Robot-sumo, or pepe-sumo, is a sport in which two robots attempt to push each other out of a circle.

The school competition I entered required all sumobots to be fully autonomous. There were also restrictions on weight, materials, size and functionality.

I was able to win first place out of more than 10 contestants.

The technical tasks I performed while building my robot included;

• learning to code using a PICAXE chip and its programming language,
• designing and laser cutting the body of the robot,
• taking practical limitations into consideration,
• creating the electronic circuit and the PCB.
